How is vehicle fuel consumption calculated?

The common Canadian formula is litres used ÷ kilometres driven × 100, which gives consumption in L/100 km.

Can engine idling be detected?

Yes, when the required data (ignition state and speed) is available from the telematics device.

Can fuel theft be detected?

Telematics can surface certain variations or level anomalies. An anomaly alone is not proof of theft and needs to be verified.
